Just Cause 2
With the 2010 release of the sequel to Just Cause, Square Enix needed to create a pre-launch campaign to engage potential customers and develop greater brand awareness for the iconic, over-the-top action brand of Just Cause 2.
The website was integrated into the existing Eidos/Square Enix social media orientated CMS, to allow consistency for content managers previously working on the campaign site for the first game.
The site includes various downloads, podcasts, video blogs and wallpapers, and the homepage contains a dynamic carousel and bespoke full screen HD media player.
The functionality for the site was developed specifically with the aim of increasing touch points and for users and creating conversation around the game wherever possible. To help achieve this we developed a system that automatically created a new thread in the forum when a user had written a comment on a piece of content on the front-end of the website.
We also worked directly with the game developers to create Live Game Stats, enabling users to play the game and then instantly view their statistics online.
The game has grown a huge fan following since its launch, and the website has enabled users to connect and engage with one another on every level. The forum currently contains over 88,000 unique threads
